Greetings friends and acolytes!
First, I’d like to say “thank you” wholeheartedly to all my subscribers and extend a warm welcome to those of you new to my microcosm of dark fiction.
It’s hotter than a hoochie-coochie way down yonder here in Metro Atlanta. In between braving the heat for a few enjoyable outings with my wife and kids or completing home improvement projects with mixed results, I’ve been hunkered down creating.
The season so far has been extremely productive, but this only comes at the expense of my full-time job, which I unfortunately parted ways with back in May.
So Begins the Summer of Liam Keith
The beloved 90’s sitcom Seinfeld had a hilarious episode where the endearing “short, stocky, bald guy” character, George Costanza, takes a severance package from his job, giving him the entire summer ahead to do as he pleases. Initially giddy with excitement, he declares to Jerry:
“This is going to be my time. Time to taste the fruits and let the juices drip down my chin. I proclaim this: the Summer of George!”
What happens, instead, is he winds up lazing around purposelessly and spiralling into a crippling bout of ennui.
Myself, I recently left my job due to financial / funding circumstances with the organization I worked for. While suffering a brief stint of black inertia, I refused the same fate as George Costanza, pulling myself out of the slump and getting to work on everything meaningful in life I’d been neglecting.
Aside from getting a heap of time for writing and creating, I’ve been working out nearly every day, hiking the wilderness of North Georgia, fishing, swimming, and simply reconnecting with my wife and kids.
While uncertainty looms ominously like a thunderhead over each of my days, I’m guardedly hopeful that better things lie ahead, employment wise. So, instead of curling up and whining like a little bitch, I am plugging away on projects and making memories.
The Summer of Liam Keith is in full swing, so read on for some tantalizing updates on writing and other projects!

Greycross: Twilight at Primrose
I am now over 120,000 words into the debut book of my Greycross series, Twilight at Primrose. This translates to about 70% of the first draft completed, which is so much further than I’ve ever made into a full-length novel.
Like many most authors, I had several false starts years and years ago, attempting to birth tragically inviable lifeforms that never reached fruition and are now interred in the static of an old external hard drive. These pitiable novels were either strangled to death by tying themselves in impossible knots or were populated by cardboard cutout characters I simply stopped giving a damn about.
Concerning the current novel, I’ve been astounded at the uncanny life this story has taken on, and how these characters seem to have become animated and fully autonomous by virtue of some strange juju—this phenomenon is almost as spooky as the Occult / Gothic Horror themes woven throughout the book!
At the pace I’m hammering on at, I’m looking at a late Fall publication date, potentially. In any case, I will be damned if 2025 slips away from me and this book has not hit the shelves.
Besides, I have people screaming at me to finish this thing, as they were hooked by the beta chapters, which you can read now by clicking the link below:

An Unexpected Deluge of Sound
I took around a year off from writing any new music after my last release. This seems to have encouraged the formation of a creative clog that has suddenly dislodged, resulting in an absolute explosion of music.
I have around 30 new tracks of music I’m chipping away at completing, which constitute three albums:
- a delicious dark ambient collection called Pale Halo
- a dreamy alt-rock instrumental album entitled Meridian
- a collection of truly evocative and heady dark electronica named Divinations.
Check out my updated Music page for an overview of what’s coming, or listen to this teaser montage from Divinations, below:
I will be releasing all new music under the same name I scribble under, Liam Keith. There are a couple of good reasons for this:
- Discoverability – I want all of my creative output to live under one roof. In years past, I tried to invent too many musical identities (i.e., “band names”), nearly one for each new project. Now that those projects have all either come to completion or petered out, I want everything going forward harmonized under a single name.
- Tie-Ins with Fiction – Much of the new music shares an overall mood, vibe, and atmosphere with my fiction. I think the two complement each other quite well. A musician friend of mine once told me my music seemed like soundtracks to some fascinating movie that doesn’t exist. This comment has always knocked around in my brainbox, so you may in fact see some clever coalescence between my new music and my writing, such as …
Readings by the Author
Part of my plan for this platform is to branch into narrating my stories. I will be leveraging my music and audio skills to do something a bit beyond the standard audiobook, such as readings with subtle, ambient soundtracks, not unlike those in the radio dramas of yesteryear.
I’m planning on pairing this with some tasty visuals and launching a YouTube channel early 2026. Having been releasing music on my own for years, I also have clear pipelines to getting my audiobook work into Spotify and other platforms.
I will be sure to post teasers here, so stay tuned!
Giving Something Back
In the new section of this site called For Writers, I’m going to be publishing a series of articles on the craft of writing as well as how to cultivate creativity, which can apply to all media.
Being a writer, musician, and artist, I can provide some meaningful insight into the various processes that help the inner vision come to life.
In the coming year, I’ll likely be starting up a Patreon (what my wife calls ‘the artsy people’s version of Only Fans‘). For the top tier subscribers, I may even throw in vials of my bath water or some juicy, highly explicit photographs (wink, wink).
If you’ve got experience with Patreon as a creator or a subscriber, please share your thoughts about the platform in the comments below!
Reconnecting with the Real People I Created
Parting thoughts:
Although I’ve gotten ample time to devote to the characters I’ve invented for these stories of mine, I’ve been most grateful for the chance to reconnect with the flesh and blood characters I helped bring to life—my two kids.
During the many years of grueling commutes and a demanding corporate job, my little ones metamorphosized into young teenagers, the changes wholly imperceptible.
Make no mistake, I was there for every milestone, every parent teacher conference, every birthday, every skinned knee, and every bedtime story. But being wrung out as I was each day by my job, only a fraction of me was present. This is the painful truth we don’t like to admit as corporate moms and dads, and God, what I wouldn’t give to revisit those times with the wisdom to do just a little better than I did, to savour the moments more completely.
On the bright side, in the here and now, time seems to have slowed down significantly since I’ve temporarily broken free from The Machine (funny how that works). I’m really cherishing my time with the broodlings as well as intelligently plotting my creative journey to come.
Until next time, be well, and may you stay as cool as a fool in a pool!
